Last night I watched
"Passion of The Christ"...I cried a lot during the movie, and
I thought, how could anyone treat another person like that???…and then
I remember Iraq. As Christians we
treated those prisoners pretty close to that bad. How did we get
to do that? We are a Christian nation...basically...we aren't all
Christians, but basically all religions have the same concept, and more
than that we have a President who is a "Born-Again"
Christian....Love one another; care for one another.... So...I thought
...Gee, I can buy a copy of this movie and send it to President
Bush. Certainly, as a "Born-Again" Christian, he would
want to see it and probably hasn't had the time yet! Maybe a reminder of
what Christians do and how they behave would be good for
him???...Christians don't instill fear into people we care about...we
protect what God has created, no matter what life form...grass, plants,
air, people, animals, etc. When I was growing
up I was deeply involved in my religion...and, although I am not as
involved these days, the feelings and beliefs that I had then are still
in my heart.. I believe, having this in your heart is what makes a
person a true Christian. It is really pretty easy to be a
Christian..."Live your life as Jesus would have wanted you
to...".....pretty simple I think...personally.... When I watch George
Bush campaigning, I don't see a "born-again" Christian...I see
a man trying to put fear into the people in this country...I see a man
not talking about issues...unemployment, health care, senior care,
education...I think.....this man cannot be a Christian......he just
doesn't care enough.. Why have 400,000
jobs been outsourced, when people in this country can't find work?
Why does he care so much about corporations and drug companies?...Why
are profits so darn important??? Why are so many people without
healthcare? Why do people who have lost their jobs, and have ended
unemployment benefits because no one cared enough to extend the benefit,
end up having to take a job at much less a rate of pay than they were
used to living on....why are military families struggling so much?
Why? And… why aren't we asking those questions???....WHY
AREN’T WE ASKING QUESTIONS???...why are we putting our heads in the
sand??? It isn't un-American to question the man who leads your
country...it is a privilege to ask those questions....and it is
honorable for those questions to be answered! George Bush doesn't
have a clue about what is going on in this country with people....he
doesn't have a clue and he doesn't care to have a clue...he has the
"fear-factor" going for him...as long as he can convince
people that they need to be afraid, he'll be ok.....and he's convincing
them! Shame on you! I might still buy
him that movie! Louise Hammerl
