by Nancy Reed (aka Hungry Puppy)
Nobody cares when I'm hungry
for food or a hug, a kiss,
a kind word, a thank you,
or a night of bliss,
sleeping on my masters bed,
on sheets so smooth;
and just when I'm in the groove,
I'm back on the floor,
a harmless little puppy like me,
just trying to communicate,
and they treat me
like I'm second rate.
Maybe when I'm a big dog,
they'll get things straight,
feed me when I'm hungry,
and let sleeping dogs lie...
cause man's best friend
can be a fearful thing
when you don't let him snooze,
so why lose . . .
a perfectly good doggieship.
