CREATING ENERGY FIELDS

I will never forget how hard it hit me when I first saw Kirlian photography of human energy fields. When people were photographed during fits of anger, the energy fields showed up as  splashes and splatters of red and black. When they were centered and peaceful, pastel colors undulated in pleasant waves. It is a powerful realization when we see we are energy fields.

It is an even more powerful realization to see that we are constantly creating energy fields. Our attitudes and actions actually create these fields in our homes and work places. Each project has its own energy.

Even when I write a song, I remain aware that I am creating an energy field. The song will pulsate with the energy I give it. Each song takes on a definite energy profile and transfers my energy to those who hear it. Energy from their past also becomes part of that song in their experience. We not only experience the energy someone has put into a project, we add our own energy to it by the images it evokes in us.

One definition of prayer would be moving of our energy where we want it to go. Before releasing it, it is a good idea to examine the energy we are sending to make sure it has the purity of good intention. We don't pray for others to make them conform to our expectations but to create a loving, accepting atmosphere that can release their own inner splendor.

We don't use our energy to control others but to give them the freedom to be who they are. I have seen people "pray and fast" and let the world know they are praying and fasting so the world will come around to their way of thinking. No matter what holy clothes we put on such actions, it is merely control behavior.

A simple action where we see clean energy at work is a smile. Someone wrote, "Smile when picking up the phone and the caller will hear it in your voice." Through your smile, you are creating a good energy field for a conversation to take place. The chances of a good outcome are dramatically improved by this simple act of creating an energy field with your smile.

For just one day, become aware of your energy and how you can shape it with your awareness. Sculpt your day with your energy.
